What does it mean to have Latinx representation in a leadership position like yours?

For me, it means being a visual representation of success for my Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican family and chosen family. My family's sacrifice to develop me through tradition, love, and discipline turned me into the person I am. In addition, the feeling of empowerment to be comfortable in my skin to be Queer and first-gen; in turn, be an influence to bring other individuals of Latinx and intersecting Latinx identities and support them to be the next and better version of me.
For our students, look for your tio/tia (uncle/aunt) figure in your life at RU-N that can help support you in your journey; look for me at the IRC; I got a few for you!
